Commenting on ”one controversial aspect of Trump's response to COVID-19 is right”https://www.theage.com.au/national/one-controversial-aspect-of-trump-s-response-to-covid-19-is-right-20200325-p54ds6.html
No country paid a damn when China locked down Wuhan, but condemned the government as heavy handed.
“... had Chinese authorities acted three weeks sooner to declare what was known about the virus, global pandemic cases could have been reduced by 95 per cent.” This is total rubbish and the author is off the rocker, because 95% will not withstand even the simplest test in any mathematical modelling.
Today marks the end of 3 months since Chinese revealed the discovery of the deadly virus. Has US locked down all the states to curb the spreading? Instead the country take the guernsey in the number of infection cases and fatality.
According to Wikipedia, “To maintain morale, World War I censors minimized early reports of illness and mortality in Germany, the United Kingdom, France, and the United States.”, and sadly, “Historian Alfred W. Crosby stated in 2003 that the flu originated in Kansas, and popular author John M. Barry described a January 1918 outbreak in Haskell County, Kansas, as the point of origin in his 2004 article.”
It is naive for some countries, especially the US led by President Donald Trump, to say “... calling coronavirus the 'Chinese virus' is 'not racist at all’”.
The author of this article is inciting racial divide. He is incorrect to even think that calling the controversial aspect of Trump's response to COVID-19 is right, that is calling the coronavirus as “Chinese virus”.
