When my FB friend posted a link to the article "How the greedy ruling elite failed us, by putting profit before pandemic preparedness" , I responded that "If China can successfully produce a vaccine and flood the global market with the price of a generic prescriptive drug, or given free to developing countries, that enable China to demonstrate its genuine desire to be the Leader of the World of Humanity".

Did I know China was going to make such announcement? No, I did not. I have every confidence in China to make such decision for the health and wellbeing of all human beings on the planet.

I hope China honour what was said at WHO. I am so proud of all those who take such a generous step to save the human civilisation.

Cambridge scientist suggests virus did not originate in Wuhan
https://www.thestar.com.my/news/regional/2020/05/18/cambridge-scientist-suggests-virus-did-not-originate-in-wuhan

Why are Morrison and his two ministers so adamant singling out Wuhan as though it is the origin of the pandemic? How can any one with such biased, undiplomatic and gung-ho traits be a good leader for the country?

I do think many politicians, not only in Australia, let power get to their heads, and leave no room for clear and logical thinking. They do not read enough before they bark up the wrong tree, causing misery to the people of the country.

Not letting go their egoistic initial wrong decision, is like a dung beetle latching on some dung in a field, rolling it into a dung ball and growing it bigger and bigger.

More and more scientists around the world have come out with research findings that the origin of the virus was not from Wuhan, and the virus variant from from Wuhan is not the same found in the USA and other countries outside China.

If the origin of the virus is found to be from another country, will that country pay trillions of dollars In compensation to all affected around the world? Is Australia going to eat the left over pies from the face that was thrown at it?

Morrison government, this is not the way to gain publicity and recognition from other countries. Australia still has a long, long, long way to be the world leader. Will I see the day? I have no confidence at all not even if the sun stops rising from the East!

There are several global quiet achieving country, but Australia is not one of them, so long if the so called leaders continue to be big headed and pig headed.

China seizes on Trump comment US started working on coronavirus vaccine in January to deny cover-up claims
https://www.scmp.com/news/china/politics/article/3084786/china-seizes-trump-comment-us-started-working-coronavirus

Is this for real? How can anyone develop a vaccine without the virus? Did the US import the virus just to develop the vaccine? Was the virus already running amok in the US before China knew what the new virus was about?

While the Australia Prime Minister and some of his fellow puppy dog politicians call for an investigation of the origin of the virus from Wuhan, WHO wants a wider scope not restricting to Wuhan.

I have been blogging that the investigation must not limit to Wuhan, and it was too early and probably a waste of money to start a witch hunt.

Will the US co-operate with and be open to such investigation? I have also blogged several times to have as many bodies of deceased flu victims in the US who died long before November 2019 exhumed, so that autopsies could be conducted to find out whether the cause of death was from an unknown virus of that time, or SARS-COV-2 as it is known today.

Although I have not blogged as often about the African countries’ infection cases and fatalities, I am more than surprised that the news is not as bad as what the experts have been predicting. The COVID-19 has not reached an epidemic proportion at all.

Another interesting thing I observed is that many states in the US do not suffer as badly as New York and Washington. Hiw can this happen?

Coronavirus spread accelerates again in Germany just days after restrictions eased

Coronavirus spread accelerates again in Germany just days after restrictions eased
https://www.sbs.com.au/news/coronavirus-spread-accelerates-again-in-germany-just-days-after-restrictions-eased

South Korea, Singapore and now Germany are hit with second wave of coronavirus infection just from a single cluster.

Not unlike Germany, it does not take long for cases in Melbourne to rise due to the outbreak in the abattoir in a Western suburb.

The ugly and senseless anti-lockdown demonstration in Melbourne in front of the Parliament House is a real concern that there may be infected individuals who go out of the way to spread the disease intentionally.

Please observe social distancing and if possible avoid crowded places. It is your health and life that matters!

Ten arrested, police officer injured in anti-lockdown protest on Sunday, 10 May 2020 outside Victorian Parliament House, Spring Street, Melbourne

Ignorant, arrogant, selfish, ill-informed, fake news mongering, despicable protesters opposed coronavirus lockdown measures outside Victorian Parliament House.

Among them were irresponsible parents taking their young children to the rally. It was reported by Daily Mail UK that a father was dragged to the ground by police while his two distressed toddlers cried (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/…/Man-anti-lockdown-protest-Mel…).

Melbourne is still in Stage 3 restriction, which effectively forbids such public gathering. On Friday, Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews asked Victorians to "stay patient", as he wants to be certain Victoria has the coronavirus under control.

During the arrest of a protester, a police officer was knocked down, and later taken to hospital for what is believed to be a rib injury.

Melbournians have been fairly law-abiding during the lockdown period. However, too many news clips on the media depicting the anti-lockdown demonstrations in America and Germany may be an impetus for such protest to occur.

Naive followers believe that coronavirus is a conspiracy and connected to 5G, and they're against vaccinations. A protester claimed to be a Victorian teacher, claimed her research proved the pandemic was orchestrated in part by Microsoft founder Bill Gates.

It is a sad day to see so many being misled by just a few who use such occasion to speak of their scepticism of climate change, chem-trails and concerns about anti-globalism.

Besides infecting the respiratory system and other internal organs, I wonder the coronavirus can affect the brains of some people that turn them to act so irresponsibly and selfishly.

The architect of Sweden's decision not to have a coronavirus lockdown says he still isn't sure it was the right call

The architect of Sweden's decision not to have a coronavirus lockdown says he still isn't sure it was the right call
https://www.businessinsider.com.au/coronavirus-sweden-no-lockdown-anders-tegnell-not-convinced-right-call-2020-5

When Australia border reopens for international travellers, I would like to see people from countries which did not implement laws and exercise strict disciplines of lowering infection cases and deaths barred from entering the country.

A lot of people from many states in the US are less than cooperative to help curb the spread of the coronavirus. These are selfish and self-centred who care more about their so called freedom and rights, without paying a damn about the well-being of others.

Sweden has introduced only a handful of rules and left places like parks and restaurants open. Its death toll is much higher than neighbouring countries’.

It has a population just about 10.23 millions, and ,679 deaths as of Monday 4 May 2020. Australian Treasurer, Josh Frydenberg, in his Tuesday afternoon briefing disagrees that Sweden is doing a good job, with 40% of Australian population, but the fatality is 27 times.

People from Sweden, in my opinion, are walking time bombs. The architect of the Anders Tegnell, Sweden’s state epidemiologist, who charted the course not to lock down but adhering to some forms smart lockdown, has doubt whether he has done the right thing.

The danger lies in the asymptomatic infected people who roam and mingle freely in the community, and increase the virus load unknowingly, which in turn increases the chances for others getting infected, especially fatal for the weaker population as well as the seniors.

Sweden social experiment is a flop by comparison with Australia and New Zealand which impose lockdown.

Death of a person may be just a statistics in the larger scheme of thing, but the deceased means a lot to the loved ones. It is heartless to say another person dies of COVID-19.

It is unfortunate that due to ease of movement between countries, travellers from “well-behaved” countries could have been in close contact with people from those worrying countries.

Scientists to test sewage for years to track COVID bug

Scientists to test sewage for years to track COVID bug
https://www.theage.com.au/national/victoria/scientists-to-test-sewage-for-years-to-track-covid-bug-20200502-p54p90.html

Many weeks ago I raised the question in tongue-and-cheek about what could happen to the sewerage system when people disinfect hands by washing them.

A few years ago, I watched a documentary about research on Cholera bacteria, and scientists found them even in the ocean water far away from land.

When we wash with soap our hands which are contaminated with viruses, some of the viruses are likely to escape the "attack" by the soap before it reaches them.

What will happen to the escaped viruses? Can they survive without a host? Can they mutate and become more potent and dangerous? Can they go with the stream of water and flow to other destination and flourish?

My concerns may be far fetched, but then how many times I have say things ahead of my time!

Coronavirus SARS-COV-2

To infect a human host, viruses must be able to gain entry into individual human cells. The enzyme ACE2 serves as the entry point into cells for some coronaviruses, including SARS-CO-2, the one that causes the deadly disease COVID-19.

ACE2 has been associated with cardiovascular disease for a decade, but researchers at Austin Health and the University of Melbourne have recently found that the higher the level of circulating ACE2, the greater the risk.

This is an interesting article. Only if the rest of the world takes extra precaution, and necessary tracing from the start, the infection cases and fatality would not have been that disastrous.

Put aside political differences. It is unnecessary to be in opposition with China but to combat the common enemy, coronavirus SARS-COV-2. Selfishness and self-centredness will destroy the world.

This is the time to reflect on what divide the world, and start to learn from the good of other countries and work towards a world with less suspicion and more peaceful.

A virus cluster at an Auckland school has Australian parents worried. Should they be?

It is a numbers game, the more people tested, more cases discovered.

The question is whether the number of children tested is in the same proportion as the total number tested so far.

From overseas researches so far show that infected children are asymptomatic, which means they can be carriers to infect the teachers and others instead of the other way round.

They can do it, that is Forrest, Reinhardt become billionaires by digging and selling the natural resources, so can anyone. Really, can anyone do it?

No way, Jose, not in a billion years for almost all people, definitely not me. I do not have the problem with these billionaires, and never attempt to chop down the tall poppies. Good luck if they make the money, lots of money. These mining companies help many Australians directly and indirectly to put food on the table, have a purpose to get up in the morning, and pay rent and mortgage to have a roof for shelter.

Australia is a multicultural society, but many politicians have no clue about cultural differences from one race to another. Such indifferent attitude makes most Australian politicians poor in foreign diplomacy, and make silly mistakes when making speeches.

At this point in time, financial and economic interests to get the country up running again as soon as possible is of top priority. Uncompromising and aggressive tones are setting a stage for confrontation with our trading partner who have the capacity to buy our natural resources dug from the ground, and grown from ground. They also pour billions of dollars to keep our service industries afloat.

The world is getting more and more dangerous to live in, and is facing complete destruction caused by aggressive, undiplomatic, self-centred, power hungry politicians.

Australia, with reasonably low fatalities in this pandemic, unless the second wave strikes hard, can become the world leader of peace and humanity, but its government chooses to be the Deputy Sheriff and know-tow not to China but to the US.

Printing money or keep borrowing are not the ways to get Australia out of financial wows after the pandemic. Australia is not the Gilligan’s Island, and needs injection of foreign investment and having other countries to buy its coal, iron ore, wine, education and tourism.

India has more coal than Australia and Russia holds the second largest reserve. As for iron ore, Brazil is still a very large exporter despite its production has fallen to 4th place in the last quarter.
